The short version
In Northern California, Medi-Cal is administered through Partnership HealthPlan of California (PHC). If you have Medi-Cal and live in any of the 24 counties Partnership covers, your plan is Partnership HealthPlan — even if your card just says Medi-Cal. I'm an in-network therapist for Partnership, so for most members covered sessions come at no out-of-pocket cost. The one thing worth confirming is whether your Medi-Cal has a Share of Cost — that's set by Medi-Cal, not by me, so your county Medi-Cal office is the place to check before you start.

Note: Partnership HealthPlan's service area has expanded significantly. As of 2024, Partnership serves all 24 counties listed here. If you previously had Anthem or California Health & Wellness and live in one of the newer counties (Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra, Sutter, Tehama, Yuba), your Medi-Cal coverage transitioned to Partnership.
